Job summary

Accura Engineering is seeking a Construction Inspector in Atlanta, GA to support senior inspectors on roadway and bridge projects. You will review plans, monitor field activities, conduct site inspections, and document findings while ensuring adherence to quality standards and safety practices.

The role requires reading construction documents, strong reporting skills, and a valid US driver’s license. A related Civil Engineering degree with experience or an equivalent combination is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology with 2 years of roadway/bridge inspection experience, or
• Associate degree with 5 years of roadway/bridge inspection experience, or
• High school diploma with 7 years of roadway/bridge inspection experience; equivalent training/experience accepted.
• Obtain GDOT certifications within 6 months (GDOT Construction Engineering Inspection tests – Group 1, GDOT WECS, GDOT Field Concrete Technician, GSWCC Level 1a).
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction documents and specs; basic highway math and plan reading; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Inspectors in construction oversight and inspection duties.
• Review and interpret construction plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
• Monitor activities for compliance with quality standards and specs.
• Conduct field audits of ICQA processes and inspect roadways, structures, and drainage systems.
• Observe materials sampling and testing; participate in verification.
• Attend pre-activity meetings with contractors and quality teams.
• Document inspection findings and prepare electronic reports.
• Uphold safety practices on all construction activities.
