Job summary

Accura Engineering is seeking a Construction Inspector to support Atlanta-area projects from onsite offices. The role requires reviewing plans, monitoring field activities, and ensuring compliance with quality standards across roadways, bridges, and drainage systems.

Ideal candidates bring a civil engineering degree with related inspection experience or an equivalent combination, plus valid US driver’s license and readiness to obtain GDOT certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field with 2 years of roadway/bridge inspection experience.
• Associate degree with 5 years roadway/bridge inspection experience.
• High school diploma with 7 years inspection experience or equivalent.
• Obtain required certifications within ~6 months (GDOT tests, WECS, Field Concrete Technician, GSWCC Level 1a).
• Valid US driver's license and ability to pass MVR checks.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Inspectors in field oversight and inspection duties.
• Review and interpret construction plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
• Monitor construction activities for quality standards and specifications.
• Conduct field audits of ICQA processes.
• Inspect roadways, structures, and drainage systems for conformance to project requirements.
• Observe and support materials sampling and testing (soils, aggregate, asphalt, concrete).
• Attend pre-activity meetings with contractors and quality teams.
• Document inspection findings and prepare electronic reports.
• Uphold and promote safety practices in all construction activities.
