Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. seeks a Construction Inspector in Atlanta, GA to assist senior inspectors with oversight, interpret plans, monitor quality, and conduct field audits.

The role requires reading construction documents, reporting findings, and ensuring safety on site. Candidates should have a civil engineering degree or related experience; GDOT certifications are encouraged and may be substituted.

Qualifications

• Must meet one of the listed education/experience options for roadway and bridge inspection.
• Ability to obtain required GDOT certifications within ~6 months.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction documents and specifications.
• Valid US Driver’s License required with MVRS check.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior inspectors with construction oversight and inspection duties.
• Review and interpret construction plans, specs, and shop drawings.
• Monitor activities for quality conformance to specs.
• Conduct field audits of ICQA processes.
• Inspect roadways, structures, and drainage for project conformance.
• Observe material sampling and testing (soil, aggregate, asphalt, concrete).
• Attend pre-activity meetings with contractors and quality teams.
• Document findings and prepare electronic reports.
• Uphold safety practices on construction sites.
