Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a Construction Inspector in Atlanta, GA to support senior inspectors with oversight, review plans, and ensure compliance with project specs.

You will inspect roadways, structures, and drainage, observe materials sampling, attend pre-activity meetings, and document findings with electronic reports while promoting safety. Qualified candidates bring Civil Engineering credentials and relevant experience, with willingness to obtain required

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology with two years of roadway/bridge inspection experience.
• Associate degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology with five years of roadway/bridge inspection experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent with seven years of roadway/bridge inspection experience, or an equivalent combination.
• Must obtain required certifications within ~6 months: GDOT Construction Engineering Inspection Training tests – Group 1, GDOT WECS, GDOT Field Concrete Technician Certification, GSWCC Level 1a.
• Valid US Driver’s License and pass Motor Vehicle Records review.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction documents and specifications.
• Proficiency in using computers and office equipment for documentation and reporting.
• Proficient communication skills - written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Inspectors in conducting construction oversight and inspection duties.
• Review and interpret construction plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
• Monitor construction activities for compliance with quality standards and specs.
• Conduct field audits of developer and ICQA processes.
• Inspect roadways, structures, and drainage systems for conformance to project requirements.
• Observe and support materials sampling/testing (soils, aggregate, asphalt, concrete).
• Attend pre-activity meetings with contractors and quality teams.
• Document inspection findings and prepare electronic reports.
• Uphold and promote safety practices in all construction activities.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology

Associate degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology

High school diploma or equivalent with relevant experience

Reading and interpreting construction documents and specifications

Proficiency in using computers for documentation and reporting

Proficient communication skills (written and verbal)

Geometry and trigonometry for surveying and layout

Valid US Driver’s License (MVR required)
