Job summary

AAA Northeast is seeking a Roadside Service Tech with flatbed experience to provide safe, high-quality roadside assistance to AAA members. You will respond within ETA, perform minor mechanical tasks if trained, and tow vehicles when required.

The role emphasizes safety, member satisfaction, and promoting AAA products. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 21+ years old, automotive training, and a valid driver’s license with a DOT card.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Post-secondary training in automotive mechanics and familiarity of electrical troubleshooting required.
• Active and valid driver's license issued by one state or jurisdiction.
• DOT card pre-hire and as a current employee within 1 year required.
• Satisfactorily pass motor vehicle record check during pre-hire screening and periodically during employment.

Responsibilities

• Accept calls, dispatch ETA, and locate members; assess scene safety on arrival.
• Provide minor mechanical assistance and towing per policy; diagnose probable causes of breakdowns.
• Maintain service vehicle and equipment; manage inventory; follow safety procedures and laws.
• Educate members on AAA products and refer calls to appropriate technicians; coordinate with Dispatch.
• Work independently, be flexible for 24/7 shifts, and adapt to changing conditions.
