Job summary

Jefferson County is seeking a Streets Maintenance Worker / CDL Trainee to perform road maintenance, snow removal, and related tasks across districts. The role requires a valid driver’s license, potential CDL, and willingness to respond to emergencies around the clock.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years old by hire date.
• Valid Driver’s License for 2 consecutive years prior to hire date.
• May be required to obtain Class B or A Colorado CDL with tanker endorsement and air brake restriction removed within 12 months.
• Must obtain Flagger Certification within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist in performing road maintenance operations, including repaving roads, filling potholes, applying crack-seal, repairing concrete, street sweeping, maintaining gutters and drainage, and snow removal from county-maintained roadways.
• Perform snow removal operations utilizing light and heavy equipment.
• Operate equipment and tools as necessary (mower, chain saw, hand tools).
• Perform equipment and vehicle pre/post-trip inspections per federal guidelines.
• Prepare equipment for specific uses and request maintenance service and repair as needed.
