Jefferson County is hiring for a Streets Maintenance Worker / CDL Trainee in Colorado. The role performs road maintenance, snow removal, and equipment operation across county districts, with on-call duties and responding within one hour of call.

The position includes CDL training, PPE, 40 hours weekly, 12 holidays, PTO, and benefit options. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and the ability to obtain CDL and DOT medical card within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 by hire date.
• Valid Driver’s License for 2 consecutive years prior to hire date.
• If from out of state, must obtain a Colorado Driver’s License within 30 days of hire.
• May be required to obtain a Class B or A Colorado CDL with tanker endorsement within 12 months of hire.
• Must obtain Flagger Certification within 3 months of hire.
• Respond to emergencies and snow removal operations 24/7.

Responsibilities

• Assist in road maintenance operations, including repaving roads, filling potholes, applying crack-seal, repairing concrete, street sweeping, drainage maintenance, and snow removal.
• Perform snow removal operations utilizing light and heavy equipment.
• Operate equipment and tools such as mower, chain saw, and hand tools.
• Perform equipment and vehicle inspections per federal guidelines and ensure safe operation.
• Coordinate maintenance and prepare equipment for specific uses; request service as needed.
