Job summary

Jeffco Road & Bridge in Jefferson County is seeking a Streets Maintenance Worker / CDL Trainee to perform manual road maintenance, flagging, snow removal, and equipment operation.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, a valid Driver’s License, and may require obtaining a Colorado CDL with tanker endorsement; CDL is required within 12 months. Benefits include training, PPE, time off, and retirement matching.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Must be at least 18 years old by hire date.
• Valid Driver’s License for 2 consecutive years prior to hire date; out-of-state drivers must obtain CO license within 30 days.
• May be required to obtain a Class B or A Colorado CDL with tanker endorsement and DOT medical card within 12 months of hire.
• Must obtain Flagger Certification within 3 months of hire.
• Respond to emergencies and snow removal operations 24/7 and report to an assigned shop within one hour of being called.

Responsibilities

• Assist with road maintenance operations, including repaving, pothole filling, crack-sealing, concrete repair, street sweeping, gutters and drainage maintenance.
• Perform snow removal operations using light and heavy equipment.
• Operate equipment and tools such as mowers, chainsaws, and hand tools.
• Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and ensure safe operation of equipment.
• Prepare equipment for specific uses and arrange for maintenance/repairs as needed.
• Perform general maintenance tasks and routine cleaning.
