Qualifications

  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Must pass CDL written exam before hire; within 60 days after hire you must pass the driving portion with tanker endorsement, no air brake restrictions (Class A or B), and interstate status.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains state highway systems including filling joints and cracks, patching potholes, flagging and directing traffic, setting up signs and cones, loading and hauling materials, cutting brush, removing debris, and cleaning ditches.
  • Maintains and repairs state highway facilities, including signs, guardrails, curbs, gutters, and painting buildings and equipment; services equipment and machinery.
  • Operates vehicles to transport personnel and equipment, plow snow, spread ice control materials, and operate various heavy machinery and trucks; may repair bridge decks and perform related tasks.
  • May install signs and inspect sign structures, pour footings, weld posts, and maintain signage.
