Job summary

CTL Engineering in Lumberton, NC is hiring Inspectors/Technicians for construction inspection services on NCDOT projects. You’ll perform earthwork, concrete and utility inspections, with field testing and reporting, and support engineers in the field.

Travel throughout southeast NC is expected; the role blends field and some office work. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in inspection, valid driver's license and knowledge of QA/QC procedures.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in construction inspection and testing on NCDOT projects.
• Familiarity with highway construction specifications and field experience.
• Experience with field and laboratory testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, etc.
• Preferred certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection and reporting on earthwork, concrete, asphalt and utility construction for NCDOT and clients.
• Conduct field testing and inspection of roadway/bridge projects.
• Inspect and sample construction materials and verify contractor work.
• Prepare calculations, plot data and draw simple curves.
• Assist Engineers in soil and material investigations.
• Maintain project records and reports; ensure QA/QC adherence.
• Notify contractor or Project Engineer of non-conforming work.
