Starr Regional Medical Center is currently seeking talent to fill the position of Registered Nurse - RN for our Women’s Services Department. This is a permanent, full-time position.

Core competencies include, but are not limited to the following:
- Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
- Establishes a plan of care appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient according to his or her capabilities and desires.
- Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatments.
- Documents patient care given.
- Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfer, discharge, referral, and psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides education tailored to age, culture, and circumstances.
- Acts as an advocate for the patient's physical and emotional well-being.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Education: Associate’s degree in Nursing (Required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing: Preferred
Required Licenses:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee or another compact state
Required Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required at hire
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – Needed within 6 months of hire or transfer
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) – Needed within 6 months of hire or transfer
Skills:
- Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently.
- Must handle stressful environments and take appropriate action.
- Must pass a Medication Administration Exam with a score of 85% or higher.
