Description:
Starr Regional Medical Center is currently seeking talent to fill the position of Registered Nurse - RN for our Women’s Services Department. This job is permanent and full-time.

Core competencies include, but are not limited to the following:
- Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
- Establishes a plan of care appropriate to identified problems, involving the patient according to his or her capabilities and desires.
- Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatments.
- Documents patient care given.
- Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial support.
- Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education
- Associate’s degree in Nursing: Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing: Preferred
Required Licenses
- Registered Nurse in Tennessee or another compact state.
Required Skills
- Certifications: BLS (required at hire), ACLS, NRP (required within 6 months or upon transfer).
- Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision, and stress management skills.
- Must achieve a passing score of 85% on the Medication Administration Exam.
