Core Competencies:
  • Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
  • Establishes a plan of care appropriate to identified problems, involving the patient according to their capabilities and desires.
  • Performs interventions including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
  • Documents patient care provided.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living such as hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and mobility.
  • Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial support.
  • Evaluates learning needs and provides education to patients and families.
  • Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
  • Associate’s degree in Nursing (Required)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (Preferred)
Required Licenses:
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee or another compact state
Required Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required at hire)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (Within 6 months of hire)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) (Within 6 months of hire)
Skills:
  • Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work effectively in a stressful environment.
  • Must achieve a passing score of 85% on the Medication Administration Exam.
