Job summary

HCA Florida Memorial Hospital is seeking an RN Coordinator to manage transfer center activities, coordinate patient movements, and optimize bed placement across facilities. The role emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration, accurate documentation, and regulatory compliance to ensure safe patient throughput.

The position requires nursing leadership, problem-solving, and strong communication skills to support referring facilities and hospital staff while maintaining high-quality patient care

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years’ clinical experience in an acute care setting (ED/CCU preferred).
• RN license in applicable states; multi-state license if transfer center covers multiple states (may be obtained on hire).

Responsibilities

• Performs transfer center functions with centralized patient placement in a timely, customer-centered manner.
• Coordinates transfer of emergent, urgent and elective patients to final destination facilities.
• Facilitates patient throughput with focus on quality and efficiency; provides follow-up.
• Promotes teamwork and collaborates with physicians, nurses, and staff.
• Ensures accurate bed placement, appropriate bed assignment, and initial plan of care.
• Maintains data in patient records and center workflow systems.
