Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking an RN Coordinator to facilitate patient transfers, placement, and movement across markets served. You will collect clinical information, match patient needs to bed capacity, and collaborate with referring facilities and hospital staff to ensure safe flow and throughput.

The role requires nursing education, clinical experience in acute care, and active RN licensure in applicable states.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years related clinical experience in an acute care setting: ED, ICU, Critical Care highly preferred.
• RN License in the states where the HCA patient transfer center is located; Compact/multi-state license may be required if Transfer Center covers more than one state.

Responsibilities

• Perform all transfer center functions, including centralized patient placement, in a timely, customer-centered professional manner.
• Coordinate transfer of emergent, urgent and elective patients to a destination facility from all potential referral sources via a single call to initiate acceptance and expedite decision making.
• Ensure accurate and concurrent data collection and maintenance in patient records and center workflow systems.
• Triage and prioritize patient information and communicate an accurate clinical presentation to accepting physicians, nurses, and hospital administrators.
