Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks an experienced RN for its high-volume transfer center, coordinating adult and pediatric transfers and overseeing timely patient care transitions. You will work with referring facilities and AHN teams to ensure bed allocation aligns with clinical needs.

The role requires strong nursing experience, PA RN licensure or multi-state eNLC, and excellence in communication and decision-making under pressure.

Qualifications

• Associates or Diploma in Nursing or relevant experience as determined by the company.
• 5 years of experience in Clinical Nursing.
• 3 years of experience in stepdown/critical care/Emergency Room.
• Current PA RN licensure or multi-state licensure via eNLC.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all aspects of patient transfers with the Transfer Center team.
• Obtain verbal reports, review EHR and labs, ensure timely care transitions.
• Facilitate throughput and bed assignment within AHN network.
• Identify appropriate AHN destination and manage bed availability.
• Guide callers through transfer process with education and referrals.
• Use multiple software platforms and multi-channel phones to record data.
