Job summary

Lutheran Senior Services in Pennsylvania is seeking a skilled Nursing Director to oversee the nursing staff in a long-term care facility. You will ensure high-quality professional nursing care, adherence to EverTrue policies, and regulatory compliance while guiding the Nursing Services Department in daily operations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing
• Two+ years of related supervisory experience in a geriatric environment
• Must be CPR certified
• Must hold a current state applicable RN nursing license; BSN preferred
• Demonstrates initiative and ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
• Must be able to follow direction written or oral
• Must have patience, tact, flexibility, a cheerful disposition, enthusiasm as well as willingness to handle difficult situations
• Must have legible handwriting, good telephone and filing skills

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and monitors the daily activities of the nursing services department staff
• Maintains consistent application of EverTrue policies; Participates in coaching/counseling of nursing service personnel as necessary
• Participates in development, maintenance and updating of written policy and procedures that govern day-to-day functions of the Nursing Services Department
• Performs administrative duties including workforce evaluations, scheduling, medical record documentation, and regulatory reports
• Participates in direct resident care when necessary
• Participates in committee meetings as required
• Functions in the capacity of DON, Charge Nurse, or MDS Coordinator in absence
• Assists with in-service training of nursing services staff
• Participates in surveys/inspections by authorized agencies
• Maintains safe work environment and infection control procedures
• Maintains confidentiality of resident and employee information
• Conducts rounds to ensure safe care delivery and intervene as needed
• Ensures coordination and timely completion of admission process
• Reports and supports investigative protocols related to incidents in accordance with regulations
• Complies with federal/state/local laws and EverTrue policies and standards
