Job summary

Lutheran Senior Services is seeking an experienced nursing leader to oversee the nursing services department in a long-term care setting. You will coordinate staff activities, ensure policy compliance, perform administrative duties, and participate in resident care as needed.

In this role you may serve as DON or MDS Coordinator in absences, contribute to training, and participate in surveys to maintain quality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing.
• Two+ years of supervisory experience in a geriatric environment.
• Current RN license; CPR certification.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily activities of the nursing services department staff.
• Maintains consistent application of EverTrue policies; coaches staff as needed.
• Develops, maintains, and updates written policies and procedures for Nursing Services.
• Performs administrative duties including evaluations, scheduling, medical record documentation, and RAI/MDS.
• Participates in direct resident care when necessary.
• Participates in committee meetings as required.
• Functions in the capacity of DON, Charge Nurse, or MDS Coordinator in absence.
• Assists with in-service training of nursing staff.
• Participates in surveys/inspections by authorized agencies.
• Maintains infection control and disaster preparedness practices.
