Job summary

HCF is seeking a Staff Development Coordinator RN to lead nurse aide training and ongoing in-service education in a long-term care setting, with an emphasis on resident care quality.

Must hold an RN license and have at least one year of long-term care experience; CPR is recommended. The role includes orientation, training, record-keeping, and participation in QA processes to ensure compliance and excellence.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN license with the State Board of Nursing.
• CPR certification recommended.
• Completion of a Train the Trainer/Educator program is preferred before duties.

Responsibilities

• Conducts general orientation for all new employees.
• Teaches Nurse Aide curriculum, administers quizzes and exams.
• Maintains records and correspondence with nursing/the training units.
• Conducts state approved nurse aide training programs.
• Plans and conducts in-service education as directed by DON and LNHA.
• Follows infection control and safety practices.
• Communicates effectively with residents, staff and visitors.
• Participates in the Nurse On-Call program and QA process.
