Job summary

The Staff Development Registered Nurse at MediLodge of Campus Area in East Lansing, MI, assesses, plans, organizes, implements, evaluates, and coordinates the center's Staff Development Program, performs clinical tasks, and assists in other departments.

You will develop orientation and ongoing training for licensed and unlicensed staff, ensure compliance with state and federal requirements, monitor performance, and partner with the DNS to maintain clinical competency and budgetary oversight.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing program; BS degree preferred.
• Licensed RN in the state.
• CPR teaching certificate, if applicable.
• Three years of nursing experience, including one year in long-term care.
• One year of experience as an instructor preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure employees receive compliance training and education.
• Maintain training documentation per state, federal and compliance requirements.
• Monitor employee performance and address compliance issues.
• Develop and conduct orientation programs for new, rehired and contract staff.
• Manage Employee Health program.
• Provide hands-on clinical orientation and instruction to licensed and unlicensed personnel.
• Coordinate CPR training and other certifications.
• Assess resident needs to tailor training programs.
• Work with the DNS to ensure nursing staff competency and conduct annual assessments.
• Assist in department budget preparation and control expenditures.
• Coordinate OSHA/Risk Management documentation.
• Ensure curriculum meets accreditation requirements and plan in-service programs.
• Conduct CNAs certification or training programs.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
