Job summary

Doctors Medical Center of Modesto is seeking an experienced cardiology shift manager to lead nursing services on the days shift. The role reports to the Cardiology Manager and focuses on coordinating staff to deliver high-quality patient care.

Ideal candidates will have a BSN or higher, California RN license, and 3–5 years of acute care experience with strong managerial communication skills, supporting a busy cardiology unit.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred.
• Three to five years acute care experience or equivalent.
• Managerial communication preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate nursing services for patients during the designated shift.
• Assess staff needs for the unit and coordinate with staffing coordinator and leadership.
• Collaborate with the Nurse Director and Administrative Nursing Supervisor to ensure staffing meets patient needs.
• Ensure patient care is appropriate to the age and developmental level of patients served.

Reporting to the Cardiology Manager, the Shift Manager utilizes the nursing process and organizational/leadership skills to coordinate services of staff to patients during the designated shift. Assures patient care is appropriate to the age and developmental level of patients served. Assesses staff need for the unit, collaborates with the staffing coordinator, Nurse Director, and Administrative Nursing Supervisor to ensure patients needs are met.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

BSN preferred

Minimum Experience/Skills:

Three to five years acute care experience or equivalent. Managerial Communication preferred

License/Certificates/Credentials:

Current: California RN license, BLS certification, ACLS certification, CCRN/RCIS preferred.
