Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking an RN - Shift Lead I for a part-time, day shift at St James Hospital in Montana. The role provides leadership and clinical expertise on the shift and ensures appropriate staffing based on census and acuity, while supporting staff and modeling professional standards.

Responsibilities include supervising direct patient care, responding to emergencies, coordinating staffing with the staffing office, and communicating critical information to the oncoming Charge Nurse.

Qualifications

• BSN required within 4 years unless 15 years of acute care experience.
• Current State of Montana Registered Nurse License.
• BLS Certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and/or provides direct patient care; supports staff in problem solving related to patient/family, physician concerns, risk management, safety, and hospital safety.
• Respond to patient emergencies and serve as charge or lead for disasters.
• Collaborates with staffing office to adjust staff numbers for census changes during the shift.
• Communicates census, staffing, admissions, and discharges to the oncoming Charge Nurse to inform assignments.
• Supports unit management in managing department productivity, staffing, and timekeeping.
• Participates in hospital committees as unit representative as needed.
• Promotes mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health and adheres to service behavior standards.
• May float to other departments within competency and qualifications as needed.
• May be placed on-call during regularly scheduled shifts.
