Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team to achieve patient-focused outcomes.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to perform basic math and interpret data as required for staffing and patient care.
• Regular attendance to perform work on site during regularly scheduled business hours or shifts.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and/or provides direct patient care and supports staff in problem solving related to patient, family, and physician concerns.
• Responds to patient emergencies as needed and may lead as charge for disasters.
• Collaborates with the staffing office to adjust numbers of staff for census changes during the shift.
• Communicates with the oncoming Charge Nurse about census, staffing, admissions, and discharges to optimize assignments.
• Supports unit management in productivity, timekeeping, and coordinating unit activities.
• Participates in hospital committees as a unit representative as needed.
• Promotes mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health and adheres to service standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned and may float to other departments within competency.
