Job summary

BayCare is seeking an Operating Room RN for the St. Joseph's Hospital South in Riverview, FL. The role requires 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 year in the OR. Typical hours are 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with on-call duties and in-person presence.

Responsibilities include independent patient care using standardized nursing processes, delegation to team members, and acting as a preceptor/charge nurse when needed. Certifications such as BLS and RN are required, ACLS if department specifies.

Qualifications

• RN with minimum 2 years of experience; at least 1 year in Operating Room.
• Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; RN licensure.
• ACLS (Cardiovascular) certification if required by department.

• RN independently cares for a sub-specialty group of patients using the nursing process and standards.
• RN delegates appropriate patient care activities to health care team members.
• RN is accountable for professional development per national standards.
• RN may serve as preceptor and charge nurse when assigned.

• Location: St. Joseph's Hospital South, 6901 Simmons Loop, Riverview, FL 33578
• Status: Fulltime
• Shift: 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM
• On Call: Yes
• Always in person

Summary:

The Operating Room RN responsibilities include:

• RN independently cares for a sub-specialty group of patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• RN delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• RN is responsible for professional accountability and development according to best practice standards set forth by a nationally recognized specialty organization
• RN is also performs the role of preceptor and charge nurse when assigned

This position requires a minimum of 2 years of RN experience. For consideration for this position, at least 1 year RN experience in the Operating Room is required.
