Job summary

BayCare is seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join our team at St. Anthony's Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL. The RN will provide compassionate, high‑quality care in a busy Medical/Surgical ICU environment, maintaining safety and clinical excellence.

The role requires ICU experience, active RN licensure, and BLS/ACLS certifications. Expect in-person work with a scheduled shift from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM and alternating weekends, with on-call duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Must hold RN license and active nursing credentials.
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience in acute care.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to ICU patients per nursing process.
• Collaborate with care team and delegate tasks as appropriate.
• Monitor patient vitals and respond to emergencies.
• Document care plans and discharge planning.

Requirements:

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate's, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• Preferred Education: Bachelor's in Nursing
• 1-year RN experience in the ICU in an Acute Care setting
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

The Registered Nurse – ICU responsibilities and skills:

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient's medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
• Professional accountability and development
