Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical/Surgical ICU at Mease Countryside Hospital in Safety Harbor, FL. This full-time, in-person role requires 1 year of ICU experience and current RN licensure.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• 1 year RN ICU experience in acute care.
• BLS certification required (American Red Cross or AHA).
• ACLS certification required (American Heart Association).

Responsibilities

• Care for a group of ICU patients using the nursing process and clinical standards.
• Delegate appropriate patient care activities to health care team members.
• Monitor and document patient vitals and assessments; respond to emergencies as needed.
• Coordinate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care.
• Communicate effectively with the care team to optimize patient outcomes.

Requirements

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• 1-year RN experience in the ICU in an Acute Care setting
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association
  
  

The Registered Nurse – ICU Responsibilities And Skills

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
