Job summary

BayCare seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for the Integrated ICU at Dunedin, FL. The position is full-time with shift 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM and every other weekend. On-call is not required and care is provided in person.

RN license and nursing degree required, with 1 year ICU experience in acute care. BLS and ACLS certifications are required. BayCare offers comprehensive benefits and career growth opportunities within a large healthcare network.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor’s or higher in Nursing.
• 1 year RN ICU experience in acute care setting preferred.
• BLS certification (Red Cross or AHA) and ACLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Care for ICU patients in a hospital setting using nursing process and clinical standards.
• Delegate patient care activities to health care team members.
• Monitor and document patient vitals and progress.
• Identify changes in patient condition and respond to emergencies.
• Coordinate discharge planning and referrals for continuity of care.
• Communicate clearly with care team; ensure patient education and consideration.
• Maintain professional accountability and ongoing development.

Requirements

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate's, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• Preferred Education: Bachelor's in Nursing
• 1-year RN experience in the ICU in an Acute Care setting
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

The Registered Nurse - ICU responsibilities and skills

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient's medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
