Job summary

BayCare is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the ICU at St. Joseph's South in Riverview, FL. This full-time, days shift position requires dedication to compassionate patient care and strict adherence to nursing standards.

On-call required; in-person only; weekend rotations every other weekend. Responsibilities include monitoring ICU patients, coordinating care, and ensuring safe discharge planning.

Qualifications

• RN required with active license.
• Nursing degree at least Diploma/Associate/Bachelor.
• Bachelor’s in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Care for ICU patients using nursing process and clinical standards.
• Delegate nursing tasks to health care team members as appropriate.
• Monitor patient vitals, assessments, and changes in condition.
• Provide care during recovery in critical care and coordinate with team.

• Location: St. Joseph's Hospital South – Medical/Surgical ICU – Riverview, Florida

• Status: Full Time

• Shift: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM

• Every other weekend requirement

Requirements:

• RN (Registered Nurse) License

• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing

• Preferred Education: Bachelor's in Nursing

• 1-year RN experience in the ICU in an Acute Care setting

• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association

• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

Registered Nurse – ICU responsibilities and skills:

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards

• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team

• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care

• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.

• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition

• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients

• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge

• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
