Job summary

HCA Florida West Hospital in Pensacola, FL is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room. You will evaluate patients preoperatively, educate families, and prepare patients for anesthesia, including IV therapy and medications.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in good standing.
• BLS certification within 30 days of start date.
• Associate degree or RN diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the peri-operative process.
• Assume responsibility for patient preparation, including IV therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification.
• Participate in surgical site verification (briefing, time out, debriefing, universal protocols).
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care with evidence-based practices.
• Be an integral member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team.
• Apply nursing process, critical thinking, and leadership to deliver safe care.
• Assess patient condition, monitor throughout shift, and document changes.
