HCA Florida West Hospital in Pensacola, FL is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the operating room team. The nurse will evaluate patients prior to surgery, educate families about peri-operative care, and prepare patients with IV therapy and preoperative medications.

The role includes active participation in safety protocols and a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach to patient care. Qualifications include an RN license, an Associate Degree in Nursing, and BLS certification to be obtained

Qualifications

• RN credential required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of start date.
• Associate degree or diploma in nursing from an accredited program.

Responsabilités

• Assess patients pre- and post-surgery and monitor vital signs.
• Provide patient and family education about peri-operative care.
• Prepare patients with IV therapy, preoperative meds and site verification.
• Participate in briefing, time-out and debriefing per hospital policy.
• Respond to patient emergencies and ensure safe, evidence-based care.
• Collaborate within an interdisciplinary team to optimize surgical workflow.
