Job summary

HCA Florida West Hospital is seeking an experienced RN for perioperative care in Pensacola, FL. You will evaluate patients prior to surgery, educate families, and assist with prep and medications to ensure safe procedures.

Join a dynamic interdisciplinary team focused on evidence-based practice, patient safety, and continuous improvement. On-call may be required during select non-business hours in a supportive culture with staffing resources and ongoing education.

Qualifications

• RN licensure required; Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process
• Prepare patients including intravenous therapy and preoperative medications
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care following evidence-based practices
• Collaborate with providers, surgeons, surgical technologists and interdisciplinary team
• Apply nursing process and critical thinking to deliver safe care
• Monitor patient condition and document changes accurately
• Educate patients and families about medical condition, treatment and follow-up measures
