Job summary

HCA Florida Palms West Hospital is seeking a PRN RN for preadmissions to collaborate in a high‑performing operating room team. You will evaluate patients before surgery, educate families about perioperative steps, and ensure correct preop preparations and site verification.

The role emphasizes evidence-based practice, leadership in nursing care, and active participation with providers, surgical technologists, and nursing leadership to optimize patient safety and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must hold an RN license in the state of Florida.
• ACLS certification within 30 days of employment start date.
• BLS certification within 30 days of employment start date.
• PALS certification within 30 days of employment start date.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification.
• Participate in surgical site verification per hospital policy.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
