Qualifications

• Current license in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-B, EMT-A, EMT-I or EMT-P, LPN/LVN, or RN
• CPR and AED certification required
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting preferred
• FDA training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist to be completed

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical exam, and SPE review
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and coordinate emergency care when needed
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical/technical issues
• Support vaccination programs (Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu) for employees
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/EHS
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations
