Job summary

DHR Health in Edinburg, TX is hiring a Registered Nurse for the PCCU 4 day shift. The RN will deliver patient care using the nursing process, coordinate with the interdisciplinary team and support unit operations.

The ideal candidate will have a Texas RN license, BLS (ACLS within six months), BSN preferred, and a willingness to train for charge nurse and eventual preceptorship. Hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred).
• Current Texas RN license.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs family-centered nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Implements physician orders safely and accurately.
• Assists with admitting, discharging and transferring patients.
• Transcribes and implements new physician orders.
• Maintains detailed and accurate nursing records.
• Provides health counseling, teaching and emotional support to patients and families.
• Makes rounds and prioritizes patient needs.
• Administers medications and therapies within safe nursing practice.
• Plans and coordinates patient care with facility policies.
