Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Current Texas RN license required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification within three months of hire.
• Job requires cross training to like areas.
• Willingness to be trained for charge nurse.
• Willingness to become a preceptor after two years of nursing experience.
• Hospital experience preferred.
• Proficiency in English – verbal and written and computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Performs family-centered evidence based nursing care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Implements physician’s orders in a safe and accurate manner.
• Admits, discharges and transfers patients; maintains detailed records.
• Transcribes and implements new physician orders; uses interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Maintains a safe and clean environment and provides patient and family education.
• Administers medication and therapies within the scope of safe nursing practice.
