Medical City Frisco seeks an RN in Outpatient Services to join a team focused on safe, patient-centered perioperative care. You will evaluate patients preoperatively, educate families about procedures, and ensure proper preoperative medications and site verification are completed.

You will work with surgeons, techs, and providers to optimize surgical workflow. The role emphasizes adherence to universal protocols, proactive communication, and continuous improvement in patient safety.

Qualifikationen

• RN license and active certification as required by state
• ACLS and BLS certifications obtained within specified timelines
• PALS certification obtained within 90 days for pediatric cases
• 1+ years pre-operative experience preferred
• 1+ years critical care experience preferred

Aufgaben

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process
• Prepare patients, including IV therapy, preoperative meds, and surgical site verification
• Participate in surgical site verification with briefing, time out, debriefing, and universal protocols
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care using evidence-based practices
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including providers, surgeons, and nurses
• Apply nursing process with critical thinking and leadership to deliver safe care
• Assess patient condition, monitor during shift, and document changes
• Educate patients and families about medical condition, treatment, and follow-up measures
