St. David's Round Rock Medical Center, part of St. David's HealthCare, is seeking a Registered Nurse in Outpatient Surgery to support pre-, intra-, and post-operative care.

You will evaluate patients, educate families, and coordinate care with a collaborative interdisciplinary team to uphold safety and quality standards. The role emphasizes evidence-based practice, patient-centered care, and continuous improvement within a supportive hospital culture.

Qualifications

• ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• RN (Registered Nurse) licensed/registered.
• Associate Degree in Nursing or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification.
• Participate in surgical site verification, time out and debriefing per policy.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care with evidence-based practices and continuous improvement.
• Work with a dynamic interdisciplinary team including providers and surgical staff.
• Apply nursing process, critical thinking, and leadership to deliver safe care.
• Assess and document patient condition and care provided.
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment and follow-up.
