Job summary

Medical City Weatherford is seeking a Registered Nurse to support perioperative care, evaluate patients pre-surgery, and educate families about procedures. You will participate in timeouts, sterile technique, and ensure patient safety in a collaborative operating room setting.

Responsibilities include preoperative preparation, documentation of patient conditions, and ongoing education for patients and families.

Qualifications

• RN licensed to practice in Texas.
• ACLS and BCLS certifications must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
• Associate Degree in Nursing required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process.
• Assist with patient preparation, including IV therapy and preoperative medications.
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while applying evidence-based practices.
• Collaborate with a dynamic interdisciplinary team in the OR.
• Apply nursing process, critical thinking, and leadership to deliver safe care.
• Assess patient condition, monitor during shift, and document changes.
• Educate patients and families about medical condition, treatment, and follow-up.
