Job summary

Freeman Health System is seeking an Onboarding Specialist I to ensure comprehensive orientation and education for nursing staff within the department. The role collaborates with unit leaders and preceptors to schedule and deliver required orientation and educational opportunities.

The position focuses on developing curricula, assessing educational needs, and implementing system-wide courses, workshops, and in-services to support Five Star Promise values across teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years nursing experience.
• Current Missouri RN license or compact-state RN license.
• Compact license must be in the nurse's state of residence.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Education or Healthcare related field.

Responsibilities

• Develops and designs curricula reflecting contemporary healthcare trends for orientation and education.
• Coordinates unit orientation and onboarding for new employees; maintains orientation checksheets.
• Develops and facilitates unit learning plans, preceptor training, and education per unit needs.
• Collaborates with physicians, unit directors and leadership to address upcoming educational needs.
• Creates an environment for student learning in classroom, simulation, and clinical settings.
