Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the NT6 Observation Unit. The 43-bed unit provides acute care for cardiac, general surgery, and behavioral health patients with typical 24- to 48-hour stays. RN to patient ratio is 1:5-6.

The team emphasizes fast-paced, collaborative care with strong physician and ancillary partner support. The role requires a Nursing Diploma, RN license on hire, and BLS certification within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Certifications: BLS within 30 days.
• RN License upon Hire.
• Education: Nursing Diploma.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial assessment upon admission and develop a plan of care.
• Document nursing care accurately and maintain charting standards.
• Assess IV sites every 4 hours and start new IVs per policy.
• Ensure patient and staff safety and report hazards/incidents.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in unit education and quality initiatives.
