Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the NT6 Observation Unit. The unit provides acute care for a 24–48 hour stay, with a 1:5–6 nurse-to-patient ratio and a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, and documentation, while ensuring safety and quality care. A $10,000 sign-on bonus applies to external applicants with a 3-year commitment.

Qualifications

• RN license required and must be eligible to practice.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• 1+ year of RN experience on an observation/acute care unit.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing care on the Observation Unit according to scope of service.
• Complete initial assessment on admission and develop an initial plan of care.
• Implement and modify plan of care; document care per standards.
• Ensure patient and staff safety; report hazards and incidents.
• Assess IV sites every 4 hours; start new IVs per policy.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in team education.
• Collaborate with physicians and ancillary staff to achieve outcomes.
