Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an RN for the NT6 Observation Unit. The unit has 43 beds and provides acute care for cardiac, general surgery, and behavioral health cases with typical 24–48 hour stays. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5–6, and we emphasize teamwork with physicians, discharge staff, and a unit educator.

The role requires RN licensure, a nursing diploma, and BLS within 30 days of hire. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered for external applicants with a 3-year commitment.

Qualifications

• RN license required upon hire and BLS within 30 days.
• Education: Nursing Diploma; Work Experience: RN > 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care on the 43-bed Observation Unit.
• Perform initial assessment and develop care plans per unit standards.
• Document care accurately and communicate with the care team.
• Monitor IV sites and manage IVs per policy; ensure patient safety.
• Collaborate with physicians, discharge planning, and unit staff.
