Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an RN for the NT6 Observation unit. The 43-bed unit delivers acute care for cardiac, general surgery, and behavioral health cases with typical 24- to 48-hour stays.

The role requires BLS, RN licensure, and a nursing diploma, with a 1:5-6 nurse-to-patient ratio and collaborative, fast-paced teamwork. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered for external applicants with a 3-year commitment.

Qualifications

• BLS within 30 days
• RN license upon hire

Responsibilities

• Perform assessments and develop care plans per unit standards.
• Document nursing care accurately for the healthcare team.
• Assess IV sites every 4 hours and start new IVs per policy.
• Ensure patient safety and report hazards or incidents.
• Participate in staff meetings and contribute to ongoing education.
