Job summary

Genesis HealthCare is seeking a Nurse Educator to orient and educate all nursing personnel at our long-term care center, ensuring safe, evidence-based nursing care in accordance with federal, state, and facility guidelines.

You will report to the Director of Nursing, develop education programs, supervise orientation, conduct annual competency evaluations, and oversee Employee Health activities including vaccines and influenza tracking.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current RN license.
• Minimum three years full-time or equivalent clinical experience preferred.
• Two years of clinical experience in long-term care nursing with one year as an educator preferred.
• Excellence in clinical nursing skills required.
• Experience in Gerontology preferred.
• Training and/or experience in adult learning preferred.

Responsibilities

• Orient and educate all nursing personnel in the nursing center to ensure safe, effective nursing care.
• Report to the Director of Nursing and develop education programs in response to staff needs.
• Supervise and monitor new nursing employees during orientation.
• Perform annual competency testing and evaluate nursing staff performance.
• Provide oversight to Employee Health Program including TB and hepatitis vaccine administration and influenza immunizations.
