Job summary

Genesis is seeking a Nurse Educator in Camden, ME to orient and educate nursing staff, ensuring safe and effective care across the facility. You will develop educational programs, supervise orientation, and conduct competency testing while coordinating Employee Health activities.

A strong clinical nursing background with gerontology exposure is essential for success in this role. The position requires RN licensure, 3+ years of clinical experience (2+ in long-term care, with some educator

Qualifications

Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current RN license.
Minimum three years full-time or equivalent clinical experience preferred.
Two years of clinical experience in long-term care nursing with one year as an educator preferred.
Excellence in clinical nursing skills required.
Experience in Gerontology preferred.
Training and/or experience in adult learning preferred.

Responsibilities

Orient and educate all nursing personnel in the nursing center, ensuring safe, effective care per guidelines.
Report to the Director of Nursing.
Develop education programs in response to staff needs and teach current patient care and nursing center practices.
Supervise and monitor new nursing employees during orientation.
Perform annual competency testing and evaluate nursing staff performance to identify education gaps.
Provide oversight to Employee Health Program, including TB and hepatitis vaccines and influenza immunizations.
