Southern Illinois Healthcare seeks an RN Nurse Educator for Ambulatory Clinics in Carbondale to develop and deliver orientation and ongoing education for nursing and clinical staff, ensuring competency and patient safety across the SIH Medical Group. You will assess training needs, design competency programs, update IT training related to the EHR, and collaborate with clinicians to improve care.

Must hold an Illinois RN or LPN license, ADN (BSN preferred), and BLS; five years RN/LPN experience

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• LPN license required if ADN not held.
• Current Illinois RN or LPN license and BLS certification.

Responsabilités

• Develop and administer orientation and onboarding for nursing and clinical staff for the SIH Medical Group.
• Assess and document annual and ongoing training and competency requirements for SIH Medical Group nursing and clinical staff.
• Deliver competency-based programs to improve skills and retention of knowledge.
• Develop educational opportunities for clinical staff at all career stages.
• Assist with IT training materials related to nursing and the EHR; ensure staff are educated on changes.
• Plan, prepare and maintain materials for nursing and staff education programs for accuracy and relevance.
• Incorporate adult learning principles in planning, implementing and evaluating education programs.
• Develop and deliver core education for patient population specific nursing care.
• Teach content within clinical expertise to support orientation and staff development.
• Identify and recruit internal and external resources for educational activities.
• Participate in workgroups and performance improvement activities related to nursing and staff.
