Job summary

Southern Illinois Healthcare is seeking an Education Program Lead to develop onboarding for nursing and clinical staff, assess competency needs, and promote patient safety through evidence-based education.

The role focuses on delivering competency-based training, creating IT training materials for the EHR, and coordinating internal and external resources to support clinical learning across SIH Medical Group.

Qualifications

• ADN required; BSN preferred.
• LPN required if not ADN.
• Illinois RN or LPN license required.
• BLS certification required.
• 5 years as RN or LPN in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and administer orientation and onboarding for new nursing and clinical staff for the SIH Medical Group.
• Assess and document annual and ongoing training and competency requirements for SIH Medical Group nursing and clinical staff.
• Proactively identify and respond to needs of the SIH Medical Group to promote quality patient care and safety.
• Deliver competency-based programs for nursing and support staff with a focus upon improvement of skills and retention of knowledge.
• Develop and provide educational opportunities that benefit clinical staff at all stages of their career development and learning needs.
• Assist with development of IT training materials related to nursing and support staff; educate staff on EHR changes.
• Plan, prepare and maintain materials for nursing and support staff education programs.
• Incorporate adult learning principles in planning, implementation, and evaluation of education programs.
• Develop and administer core education for patient population specific nursing care.
• Teach content as needed to facilitate orientation, staff development and safe practice.
• Identify and recruit internal and external resources for educational activities.
• Participate in workgroups and performance improvement activities related to nursing and support staff.

• Develop and administer core education to address patient population specific nursing care
• Teach content as needed and/or assigned within clinical expertise to facilitate orientation, staff development and/or safe practice
• Identify and recruit internal and external resources (nurse, doctor, other specialists) for educational activities
• Participate in workgroups and performance improvement activities related to nursing and support staff for the SIH Medical Group

Compensation (Commensurate with experience): $59904 To $92851.2
