Job summary

The role requires an Illinois RN license, CPR/BLS, and ACLS within 1 year for some units.

Qualifications

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse license.
• CPR/BLS Card required; ACLS within 1 year of hire depending on unit.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
• Establish a compassionate environment to provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patient and families.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individual plan of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary health care team.
• Provide health teaching and counseling to promote, attain, and maintain the optimum health level of patients.
• Demonstrate clinical judgment and critical thinking to recognize and report changes in patient condition.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation in patient medical records.
• Provide input into policies and procedures to support patient safety and quality of care.
• Supervise and delegate to licensed practical nurses and/or unlicensed assistive personnel.
• Float to other SIH nursing units within competency level.

Education
