Qualifications

• Requires current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred; BLS certification from American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care.
• Leads by delegating and supervising safe nursing care with ancillary staff.
• Evaluates effectiveness of care and identifies improvement opportunities.
• Collaborates with healthcare team, patient, family, and community services for discharge planning.
• Assesses patient and family needs and provides appropriate teaching.
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement and research activities.
• Serves as a role model/preceptor to new graduates and less experienced staff.
• Assumes charge nurse responsibilities as delegated.
