Job summary

Rhode Island Hospital seeks an experienced RN to implement, supervise, and evaluate nursing care from admission to discharge. You will plan with aging, development, and cultural considerations, model Brown University Health values, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities include direct patient care, supervising staff, discharge planning collaboration, and mentoring new graduates. Night shift, weekends, and holidays applicable; RI licensure required.

Qualifications

• RN license in the State of Rhode Island or through compact.
• Baccalaureate in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care.
• Supervises and delegates nursing care to ensure safety and quality.
• Evaluates care effectiveness and identifies opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborates with the healthcare team, patient, family and community services regarding discharge planning.
• Provides teaching based on patient and family needs.
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement and research activities.
• Maintains required competencies and certifications (BLS, ACLS/PALS).
• Mentors new graduates and less experienced personnel.
